When you start a trip we store your name, your destination and dates, where you're staying if you tell us, and anything you write in the planning conversation. If you give us an email address, we store that too.

You don't need an account to use mmmizu. Every visitor gets an anonymous session so we can tell your trip apart from someone else's. Adding your email upgrades that same session into a real account — it doesn't create a second identity or move your data anywhere.

Your planning conversation and the wishes we take from it are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which is what writes your itinerary. Place descriptions are sent to the Google Places API to find real venues, addresses and opening hours. Everything is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, and the site runs on Vercel. Emails are sent over our own mail provider.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

On a group trip, each person's conversation is private. Nobody else on the trip — including the organiser — can read what you said or see your wishes before the itinerary is generated. Once it is, the finished itinerary shows which stops came from whom by name, so the organiser and other travellers can see that attribution.

If an adult answers on behalf of a child they've added, that conversation belongs to the adult's account.

Share links and trip posters are not protected by a password. The address is long and random, so it can't be guessed, and we ask search engines not to index these pages — but anyone you send the link to can open it, and can pass it on. A shared itinerary includes travellers' first names, your dates and the area you're staying in, so treat the link as you would a photo of your plans.

We email you about your own trip: an invitation you were sent, someone joining, a reminder that others are waiting on you, and your itinerary when it's ready. These come with using the product. We'll only send you anything else if you tick the box asking for it, and you can tell us to stop at any time.

We keep your trip while you have it. Deleting a trip deletes everything attached to it — the conversations, the wishes and the itinerary — and that is immediate and permanent. If you want your account and everything on it removed, email us at info@mmmizu.com and we'll do it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how we use it. Ask us at info@mmmizu.com and we'll sort it out. If you think we've got it wrong, you can also complain to your local data protection regulator.

If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and the date at the top. mmmizu is new and still finding its shape, so that may happen more than once.
